2016 Conference

Dear Members,

This is a reminder that the 2016 Agronomy Society and NZ Grassland Association Conferences are being held in Timaru from November 2-4.  The venue is the Caroline Bay Hall.

We encourage all members of the Agronomy Society and those with an interest in agronomy to attend.  The combined programmes will cover a wide range of crop and pastoral topics and there are a number of half day field trips planned to local agribusinesses around the Timaru area.  In particular, we are pleased to be able to offer an agronomy focused field trip at this year’s conference, to be held on Thursday 3rd November.  It will include stops at the Heartland Potato Factory, a specialty small seed producer, Turley Farms to view milling wheat, onions and ryegrass as well as potatoes at Raymond Bowan’s.  There will be guest speakers at each stop covering topics from market opportunities, quality, variable rate fertilisers, PGR’s, IPM and more.

The easiest way to register for the conference as an Agronomy Society member is to fill out the attached from and email it to eo@grassland.org.nz.  Alternatively, you can register online.  The early-bird discounted rate for Agronomy Society and NZ Grassland Association members is $405 for the full event or $195 for one day.

Early bird registrations close on 5 October.

The draft programme for both events is also available online and will be finalised within the next two weeks.

Kind regards,

The Agronomy Society Council
